Utility Assistance – Effective Monday, March 16, 2020

Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas announced they are suspending disconnection for nonpayment for all homes in North Carolina since many of their customers may be facing unusual financial hardship. They City of Winston-Salem utilities department has also indicated they will not be cutting off water due to missed payments.

As a result, Crisis Control Ministry will not be providing financial assistance for utility cutoff notices. Crisis Control Ministry’s priority is to focus on providing financial assistance to our neighbors in crisis who have rent and mortgage payments due at this time as well as food and pharmacy medication assistance.
